ParticipantHi,
I have a similar issue, the SEO analyzer reports: “The description is missing in the head section of the page.” I too am using Yoast SEO plugin and the page is optimized.Peter
ParticipantBingo! The h1 tag issue has now been solved, thank you! The only little glitch is the extra space between the title and the tagline. When I remove the <br …/> code, as you suggested, the tagline moves up to the same line as the title. I want it below the title.
P.S. I now have another issue with the meta description, but will create a new post for it.

ParticipantCleared the cache, double checked the header.php file after edit/save, still no joy.
The tag is visible in the header.php file, but missing in the rendered html page. Also there were no <br …/> codes in the page.

ParticipantHi, unfortunately this did not work. The html file is still missing the H1 tag.
Any other ideas?

ParticipantThanks for the quick reply. I have Yoast SEO activated and thought it was optimized. The Bing SEO analuzer reviews the rendered html code and the title is clearly not tagged with H1. Here is the screenshot from the report, with the title highlighted.

ParticipantThanks for the reply. You can close this thread, I resolved the problem. I had text in the excerpt area of the post. Once I deleted that text, the theme’s automatic excerpt generator took over and the <–read more–> tag was added. Sometimes the most obvious solution is the hardest to find!

ParticipantThank you for your reply.
Interestingly, when I add the <–read more tag–> with the WP editor as you suggested, (which incidentally I never had to do before and still got the <read more…> button showing up in the other posts) it appears in the post, but once again is missing when viewing from the home page. I also noted that a spelling error which was previously corrected in the post, persists in the excerpt. Even if I delete the entire first paragraph in the post, the excerpt persist showing the now non-existent paragraph. This is totally weird! I tried cloning the page, same result. I’m now thinking just deleting the post completely and rewriting it from scratch.Any more ideas? Is there a way to “flush” the excerpt?
