    I notice for Categories the page template uses the slider. Can I get rid of that?

    Also my sites are at 3.1 so I am thinking might be a good idea to upgrade to 3.51?

    Hi,

    Yes, you can turn off “Category page slider” from Control Panel -> Slider

    turn off category slider

    You can check the changelog.txt file inside the theme download to check all changes before upgrading.
