after getting some excellent results from iconic-one-pro 1.2 I decided to upload it to a test server to do some more detailed work.
I ran my site through the w3.org html and css validator and got a few warnings and errors.
I installed iconic-one-pro 1.2 clean again, incase any changes I’d made had caused the errors, so started with a clean wordpress 3.6 and iconic-one-pro 1.2 install and run the w3.org validator.
I got 3 failure errors from the html checker, and 6 failure errors from the style.css (I didn’t go any deeper than that).
Should default theme/css be passing the w3 validation tests ?
If you test with logo it should pass/validate as proper HTML5. Without logo it throws validation errors.
We got to know about the CSS errors recently, these will be fixed in the next release, we are working on it right now on a high priority basis.

I’ll try it with the logo, see what difference it makes.

just checked with a logo – much closer to validation, however one failure with the logo.

Syntax of link type valid for and <area>:
A whitespace-separated list of link types, with no duplicate keywords in the list. Each link type must be listed as allowed on and <area> in the HTML specification, or must be listed as allowed on and <area> on the Microformats wiki, or must be an absolute URL. You can register link types on the Microformats wiki yourself.Changing the page to the “full page” template, gets validation %100 – nice job, but the side bar has the one failure error listed above.
I’ve not had change to test the portfolio pages yet.
Don’t worry too much about validation errors, there is nothing wrong and it’s perfectly normal. Check this:
