If you have translated any WordPress theme before, then the process is the same.
If you are new to theme translation then read the example given below.
Time Required: ~10 minutes
We have already created the translation pot file for you, it is available inside the language folder inside theme folder.
Example: For doing French translation.
Open the given pot file in free poedit software http://www.poedit.net/.
Enter your french language terms against the english terms manually word by word in the poedit software and then save as fr_FR.po/fr_FR.mo and put it in the same languages folder inside theme (/wp-content/themes/iconic-one-pro/languages) using FTP software like Filezilla.
Now Open up your WordPress wp-config.php file and add the following in a new line (This step may not be needed if WordPress is already installed in your language) :
define (‘WPLANG’, ‘fr_FR’);

Troubleshooting:
– Translation not working?
Make sure to de-activate and re-activate theme after transferring your translated file ( for eg. fr_FR.po ) file to language directory. (Delete old cache if using a caching plugin)
– Most common terms and their locations for direct edit
Most common terms used in front view are available in content.php and functions.php if you want to do direct edit. (This should not be needed most of the time).
